Islam means submission to God. The youngest of the world religion professes its faith in Allah, the One God, and thus embodies an uncompromising monotheism. In his native coty of Mecca, where he continuedto encourage the people to lead a God-fearing and socially responsible life, Prophet Muhammad, the Messenger of God, first annouced the divine revelations that had been made to him.
